This varies depending on the units of readout chosen. Also depending on the units of readout, a different number of digits will be displayed following the decimal. The measurement can be recovered by switching to larger units; for example, from feet to yards.<\/p>\n<p>The number of digits after the decimal does not necessarily reflect the resolution of the readout. Resolution of readout = 1.0 mm (0.04&#8243;) wheel resolution times the scale factor.<\/p>\n<p>Examples: For a scale of 1:100 and reading out in meters, the resolution is 1.0 mm times 100 = 0.1 meter.
